Fall 2008 Roosevelt Scholars Seminar

By Kristen | March 9, 2008

Roosevelt @ UGA, in conjunction with the Honors Program, is offering an exciting course and program in Fall 2008 for students interested in public service and public policy - the Roosevelt Scholars Seminar. The 3-hour course will only be offered to students accepted into the Roosevelt Scholars program. Preeminent experts on campus will instruct students on policy areas such as international trade and security, human rights, education, social welfare, environmental issues, economics, and health care. At the conclusion of the course, students will formulate a policy paper and presentation in their area of interest.

After completing the seminar, students continue their involvement in Roosevelt Scholars - receiving support to present their work at national conferences, conduct National Issues Forums, and lead other civic activities in and around campus. Scholars have special publication opportunities, as well as opportunities to meet with policymakers.

Both Honors and non-Honors students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4 are encouraged to apply. The application is available online at http://www.uga.edu/honors/pdfs/2008RooseveltScholarsApplication.pdf and is due by 5 pm on March 21 to the front desk of Moore College. Please email roos@uga.edu with any questions.
